A magnitude 3.0 earthquake shook parts of northern Nevada on Friday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was located just over four miles east northeast of Galena High School, east of Veterans Parkway, and north of the Virginia City Highlands, as reported by the Nevada Seismological Laboratory. This quake follows closely after a magnitude 3.3 earthquake that struck the same area earlier in the week. The event occurred just before 10:30 p.m., but fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or damage at this time.
