Virat Kohli Shares Exclusive Insights on IPL 2024 Plans After Welcoming Akaay into the Family

Virat Kohli on IPL

Batting superstar Virat Kohli has said he ‘absolutely loves IPL’ and also revealed the reason behind his admiration for the T20 league. The former India skipper is one of the handful of players who have played the IPL right from the inaugural edition in 2008.

Of those, he is the only player who has played for just one team in the competition. He joined Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008 after his success at the Under-19 level and has been representing the same team since then.

After joining the franchise as a rookie, he went on to become the batting mainstay of the team and also led it from 2013 to 2021. And although he has yet to lift the IPL trophy, he absolutely loves the experience of playing in the competition. In a recent interview, the former RCB skipper said that he loves the competition because of the camaraderie the players develop and the connection the players as well as the fans develop.

“I absolutely love IPL, also because of the camaraderie you share, so many new players you play with, so many players that you’ve known for a long time who are not from your own country, whom you don’t see often,” Virat Kohli told Star Sports.

“There’s a reason why everyone loves IPL so much, as there’s a connect, both for players and fans,” he added.
