Saba Karim’s Insight on Virat Kohli’s Readiness for IPL 2024

Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim shared his perspective on Virat Kohli’s preparedness for the IPL 2024, given his limited recent exposure to T20s. Karim expressed confidence that Kohli would be fully equipped to make a significant impact in the upcoming IPL season.

Virat Kohli has participated in only two T20 matches since the last IPL edition. The right-handed batsman was absent for the first T20I of the Afghanistan series in January 2024 but returned for the last two matches, scoring 29 runs and a duck.

The 35-year-old cricketer missed the ongoing five-match Test series against England due to the birth of his second child. However, he is scheduled to showcase his skills representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise in this year’s T20 tournament.

During a discussion on Colors Cineplex, Saba Karim expressed his confidence in Virat Kohli’s ability to excel in the IPL 2024, highlighting Kohli’s track record of delivering in crucial situations.

“I feel he remains ready for these kinds of challenges. Many players at the international level relish this type of challenge and Virat Kohli is one of those players. I agree he hasn’t played T20 cricket for a long time but when he gets such a big platform, he is always prepared to play match-winning knocks,” Karim said.
